About Us
The goals for our organization is to assist and service the 13,500+ Nevadans struggling with Lupus. This include having monthly support group meetings by gathering together as a family and discuss what we can do together to help each other. Were providing our community outreach and educational programs to the community of Lupus Patients and the less fortunate individuals and families. This allows to help us spread more lupus awareness as well as provide numerous opportunities for all people in our community.
We’re devoted to improving the quality of life for Lupus sufferers by providing urgently needed services, programs, and support to patients and raising awareness of the disease among medical professionals and the general public. This includes solving the mystery of lupus, one of the world’s cruelest, most unpredictable, and most devastating diseases, while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. The Colors of Lupus Nevada (COLN) is a 501c3 Federally Exempt Organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Through our vision and mission, the Colors of Lupus Nevada will:
-Monthly support group meetings
-Community outreach and educational programs
-House and provide current information on lupus and its effects;
-Build a base of medical professionals who have agreed to provide medical care at discounted fees to members who are uninsured or have limited medical coverage;
-Provide a referral listing of professional services currently unavailable to those with lupus, such as legal advice/counseling, transportation, alternative treatments, and medical support;
-Share information on alternative treatments and products with proven or potential benefits in alleviating the stressful and debilitating symptoms of lupus. For example, current information/trends in acupuncture, reflexology, massage therapy, and other beneficial methods and treatments.
-Provide a network support system for family members and friends to learn, accept, and cope with lupus among close, personal loved ones.
